Ryan is a tax principal with over thirteen years of experience providing tax compliance and planning services to clients primarily in the real estate and private equity industries. He is a member of the Opportunity Zone (OZ) Team at HCVT and advises taxpayers contemplating sale transactions on the most effective structures to defer capital gains through investments in Qualified Opportunity Funds (QOFs).

Through careful planning and ongoing compliance with Opportunity Zone rules, Ryan guides clients toward the potential for fully tax-free gains. He assists taxpayers, investors, and other professionals in navigating the complexities of forming, funding, operating, and maintaining semi-annual compliance for QOFs and their subsidiary Qualified Opportunity Zone Businesses (QOZBs). Ryan’s goal is to help clients strategically invest in economically challenged areas to promote business growth while maximizing available tax incentives.

Ryan received his master’s degree in taxation from the University of Southern California and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Northridge. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.
