Johnson provides tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the real estate industry. He has extensive experience addressing complex real estate taxation issues including asset basis adjustments, partnership allocations, waterfall arrangement, like-kind exchanges, and unrelated business taxable income for tax-exempt investors, among other issues. He has experience providing tax consulting services to private REITs and is well-versed in addressing REIT qualification and compliance, structuring considerations, acquisitions, and liquidations. In addition to serving clients in the real estate industry, Johnson also has entertainment industry experience, and his clients have included sports teams, television, and media.
Before joining HCVT, Johnson was with EY. He holds a Master of Business Taxation and a bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of Southern California. Johnson is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
