Overview

Mike has over 25 years of experience providing audit services and leads HCVT’s Mergers & Acquisition financial team. He serves companies in all phases of the business cycle from start-up and rapid growth to organizations seeking liquidity events via IPO or strategic acquisition. His industry experience is diverse and includes private equity organizations, technology, manufacturers, distribution and healthcare, and life sciences industry sectors. Mike has significant experience serving companies funded by private equity/venture capital organizations.

In his role as leader of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisition financial team, Mike is a frequent speaker at various industry organizations addressing merger and acquisition accounting issues and other issues facing middle-market clients. For buy-side or sell-side transactions, Mike assists clients with accounting due diligence, quality of earnings reviews, and post-closing price adjustments related to earn-outs and working capital.

Prior to beginning his career in public accounting at the Big 4, Mike spent five years in the private industry. This experience, coupled with his experience in public accounting, provides a balanced perspective in addressing the needs of his clients. Mike holds a dual major in economics and political science from the University of California at San Diego and earned an MBA from the University of San Diego. Prior to joining HCVT in 2006, Mike worked for Deloitte.
