Overview

Steve joined HCVT as general counsel, effective July 31, 2023. Steve most recently served as the firm’s outside counsel and brings more than 15 years of experience as a trial lawyer.

His background includes providing counsel and representation to law firms and public accounting firms on such matters as professional liability, risk management, ethics, engagement agreements, contracts, billing issues, and intra-partnership disputes. Steve also has extensive experience representing businesses of all sizes in California state and federal courts.

Prior to joining HCVT, Steve was a senior partner and associate general counsel at the law firm Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP, which he joined in 2010. There he also served as chair of the firm’s Professional Liability practice group and was a member of their Appellate, Fire Litigation, Product Liability, and Transportation Law practice groups.

Steve obtained his Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law, his master’s degree in International Politics from American University, and his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Amherst College. He is admitted to the State Bars of California and New York.
