Kevin has over 12 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in complex tax matters for real estate, private equity, and closely held businesses. He advises clients across the full lifecycle—from structuring and acquisition through operations, recapitalizations, and exit transactions—with a focus on delivering practical, defensible solutions in high-stakes environments.
Kevin’s practice is heavily concentrated in real estate and partnership taxation. He works extensively with tiered partnership structures and has deep experience in §704(c) (forward and reverse) allocations, contributed property transactions, and complex restructuring, including transactions governed by Rev. Rul. 99-6. He regularly advises on §1031 exchanges, opportunity zone compliance and planning, and REIT-related matters, including UPREIT structures, TRS compliance, and quarterly testing requirements.
He supports large-scale real estate platforms and operating partnerships with significant investor bases, including structures with over 1,000 partners and multi-billion-dollar portfolios. His work often involves modeling and implementing complex allocations, navigating capital account and basis issues, and aligning tax outcomes with business objectives.
In addition to real estate, Kevin advises clients in manufacturing, construction, and equipment-intensive industries on matters such as §263A UNICAP, R&D credits, and transaction structuring. He also works with private equity-backed businesses and high-net-worth investors on acquisitions, QSBS planning, and multi-entity structuring.
Before joining HCVT, Kevin was with Deloitte in the Phoenix office. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
