Overview

Christy has served clients in the real estate industry her entire career in public accounting. She has provided tax consulting and compliance services for multi-tiered partnerships, large mixed-use developers, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). She has extensive experience in addressing complex real estate taxation issues including asset basis adjustments, partnership allocations, like-kind exchanges, reporting for residential and commercial developers, among other issues. Christy has served some of the largest REITs in the U.S. and is well versed in REIT income and asset qualification testing, as well as dividend taxability and disclosure requirements.

Christy joined HCVT from Zeiger & Associates, a specialized CPA firm serving complex and sophisticated real estate industry clients. She began her career in public accounting at PWC. Christy spent several years in private industry as a tax director at ProLogis. This experience, coupled with her experience in public accounting, provides a balanced perspective addressing the needs of her clients. Christy has a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics from the University of California, Davis.
