Overview

John is a highly experienced international tax professional with over 15 years of public accounting experience. His international tax experience is comprehensive and includes addressing the international tax issues associated with cross-border acquisitions, reorganizations, sell-side and buy-side international tax planning, tax restructuring, subpart F planning, among other areas. He has also performed entity analysis for clients ranging from closely held middle-market entities to public multinational organizations. He specializes in quarterly provision reviews for private and public companies, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and Transition Tax analysis.

In addition to his extensive international tax consulting and compliance experience, John has buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions experience and has conducted federal and international tax due diligence for middle-market and FORTUNE 500 companies.

John began his career in public accounting at a Big 4 firm and worked for the national tax platform while at Deloitte. In his role in Deloitte’s national office, he assisted the national tax partner in advising US offices on technical matters including International Boycott Reporting, FATCA, intellectual property migration, dividend repatriation strategies, local country taxation, and other international reporting obligations.

John obtained his LLM at Georgetown Law Center and completed his Graduate Honors Thesis in International Mergers & Acquisitions. He received his JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and was the recipient of the Meritorious Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Taxation.
