Overview

Kevin brings over 11 years of experience in public accounting with a primary focus on serving clients in the real estate and private equity industries. He provides compliance and consulting services to some of the largest companies in Arizona and supports them through the entire business life-cycle— due diligence and acquisition, operations, refinance and restructure, and disposition.

Kevin has significant experience with the taxation of pass-through entities, including LLCs, partnerships, and S-corporations. He regularly assists clients with complex partnership allocations, basis adjustments, minimum gain, and capital analysis. Kevin also has experience addressing tax-exempt investor issues including uniform capitalization rules, UBTI analysis, and more. Kevin has modeled tax allocations for partnerships involving more than 600 partners.

A good portion Kevin’s professional experience has includes serving REIT clients (Real Estate Investment Trust) with diverse portfolios such as multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use. His work with REITs includes UPREIT structures, publicly traded and publicly non-traded structures. He also has experience conducting periodic REIT testing and E&P computations and is well-versed in prohibited transactions.

Before joining HCVT, Kevin was a tax manager at Deloitte in the Phoenix office. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University, Idaho, cum laude, and holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
