Kevin Chapman is an experienced manager with a primary focus on serving clients in real estate and private equity industries.  He has provided compliance and consulting service to some of the largest companies in Arizona.

Kevin has significant experience with the taxation of pass-through entities, including LLCs, partnerships, and s-corporations.  His expertise includes complex partnership allocations, basis adjustments, minimum gain, and capital analysis.  He is also experienced in addressing uniform capitalization rules, UBTI analysis, and other tax-exempt investor issues.  Kevin has modeled tax allocations for partnerships involving more than 600 partners.

Kevin also has significant experience with REITs (Real Estate Investment Trust), with varying portfolios such as multi-family, commercial, and mixed-use.  Additionally, he has experience with healthcare REITs, including the related RIDEA structure and in-place leases.  His involvement with REITs includes UPREIT structures, publicly traded and publicly non-traded structures.  Kevin is experienced in periodic REIT testing, prohibited transactions, and E&P computations. 

Kevin is experienced in providing tax consulting through the entire business cycle – due diligence and acquisition, operations, refinance and restructure, and disposition.

Before joining HCVT, Kevin was a tax manager at Deloitte in the Phoenix office. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University, Idaho, cum laude, and holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona and California and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
