Overview

A founding partner of HCVT, John has over 35 years of experience providing audit services to clients in the real estate industry, private equity, nonprofit organizations, service businesses, and technology. He has served real estate owners, investors, and developers across all asset classes including residential, commercial and industrial properties, as well as distressed debt secured by real estate. He has served clients in all phases of the business cycle. John’s real estate experience also includes providing audit services to nonprofit developers and nonprofit entities in the affordable housing industry sector, including those utilizing low-income housing tax credits. Given the breadth of his career, John also has significant experience serving clients in the manufacturing, retail and distribution industry sectors. In his leadership role at the firm, John developed the firm’s audit approach, methodology, and tools tailored for private companies. 

John began his career at Arthur Andersen where he spent over ten years in their audit practice. John graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in business economics. In 1994, John received the Distinguished Accounting Alumni of the Year Award from the University’s Accounting Association.
