Courtney provides tax planning and consulting services for large global private equity organizations. Courtney consults on several aspects of the investment industry including fund formation, operations, restructuring, and fund dissolution. She also provides advice regarding complex business transactions including mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, Up-Cs, restructurings, and dispositions. Before joining HCVT, Courtney was an associate at the global law firm, Ropes & Gray where she advised private and public companies, as well as private equity and tax-exempt clients on tax planning issues. She also had a robust pro bono practice, representing clients in family and immigration proceedings and obtaining tax-exempt status for charitable organizations.
Courtney holds a JD from Boston University School of Law, magna cum laude. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Southern Methodist University where she earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and journalism.
