With over twelve years of tax planning, compliance and consulting experience, Scott specializes in real estate-related transactions and partnership-related issues. His experience includes directing tax-consulting engagements for a wide variety of real estate industry clients including opportunity funds, developers, real estate operators and hospitality clients.
Scott's in-depth background encompasses partnership mergers, contributed property issues, debt allocations, complex partnership allocations, modeling various tax planning scenarios and structuring shareholder and partner redemptions.
Before joining HCVT, Scott was a partner at KPMG's Orange County office. He joined KPMG in 1994 and was admitted to the partnership in October of 2003. While at KPMG, Scott was also responsible for providing engagement partner services for leading real estate clients in the west and assisting those clients on prospective real estate transactions. Scott holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from California State University, Long Beach.
